Girls Football County Champions

Congratulations to our U12 and U16 teams – both have been crowned county champions!

The U16 faced a very talented Severn Vale team in the final and with the score at 1-1 at the end of full time a penalty shootout ensued. The composure of the KLB players was exceptional and they scored all of their penalties with Severn Vale hitting the crossbar with their final kick. This meant that KLB were crowned county champions.

In their final, the U12 team faced Tewkesbury School. The girls dominated the game from the first minute and convincingly won 3-1 to also be crowned county champions! This meant that KLB, for the first time in many years had 2 age group teams as county champions. Girl’s football at KLB continues to go from strength to strength with weekly training on Wednesday’s being attended by in excess of 25 girls with excellent support from Year 11 students Ellie Butler and Izzy Newns and Year 12 student Lolly Stone. Many of our students also benefit greatly from outstanding coaching from local football clubs, especially Wotton Rovers.
