KLB County Clash at Kingsholm Rugby Stadium

KLB and Sir Thomas Rich’s schools’ Year 9 rugby teams made it to the county cup final last week. As a reward to their success, the game was to be played at Kingsholm Stadium, home of Gloucester Rugby.

It was a great match and the KLB team played superbly.  However, the match was largely dominated by Sir Thomas Rich’s school and they were deserved winners by 41 points to 7. Although the result didn’t go KLB’s way, the players and staff had a great day out and thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality and experience of being treated like professionals.

Congratulations to Sir Thomas Rich’s for the win and thank you to Terry Fanolua and all the other organisers at Gloucester Rugby for creating the foundations for a great day and treating the boys like professional players. Well done to the KLB Year 9 team for reaching the final- it was a great experience the players and the coaches/teachers.

A full match report will appear in the May school newsletter.
