The Year 11 students collecting their GCSE results at KLB today completed their primary education without SATs, started secondary school in the shadow of the pandemic and have spent the last five years building confidence, resilience and ambition as they navigated a journey that looked very different from that experienced by past students.

GCSE results day 2026 has been opportunity not only to celebrate examination results, but also to reflect on how far these students have come. They are now prepared to embrace their further education pathways with determination and self-assurance.

Hannah Khan, Headteacher, said: “Results day is always an important occasion, but it is only one chapter in a far bigger story. Today, some students will be celebrating exceptional outcomes, while others will simply be pleased to have secured the grades they need for their chosen next step. Both are equally important. What matters is that each student can now move forward with confidence towards the opportunities that lie ahead.

“I am proud not only of our students’ academic achievements, but also of their contribution to school life. Whether through sport, music, drama, student leadership, charitable work, Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, trips and visits, or the everyday kindness they show to one another, they have left their mark on KLB.

“We are excited to welcome so many students back into the Sixth Form in September. It is a real vote of confidence in the quality of education, care and opportunities we provide. The Sixth Form continues to go from strength to strength, and the introduction of A Level Politics is just one example of how we are continuing to develop our offer to meet the interests and aspirations of our students.

“We also wish students who are pursuing opportunities elsewhere every success in their chosen pathway.”
