Remembrance Day 2022

KLB

On Friday 11th November, the whole school community came together and joined the rest of the country in remembering those who have fallen in war.

As is now tradition, the entire school community came together in a moving and fitting act of remembrance. Our Head Boy (Dylan Lewis), Head Girl (Cordelia Morland) and two of our Year 11 Ambassador Prefects (Josh Turnull and Katharine Warner), walked with the school’s wreath from reception to the open area outside the Renishaw building where other students and staff gathered to observe two minutes silence. Immy Barber (Y13), Grisha Kilburt (Y10) and Jacob Bray (Y11) beautifully read out ‘The Exhortation’ and ‘The Epitaph’. Matt Brookes (Y12) played the Last Post and The Reveille/Rouse. This was a moving ceremony and it was clear that, without exception, the students understood the importance of respecting the memory of those who have fought for their country and lost their lives in past conflicts.

On Sunday, Cordelia (Head Girl), Dylan (Head Boy) and Scott Patterson (Ambassador Prefect), joined Miss Khan to represent the school at the parade in Wotton.
