Science Week 2025

KLB

During Science Week, students had the opportunity to take part in a range of exciting hands-on experiments, bringing science to life through exploration and creativity. In the chromatography activity, they separated colourful inks to uncover the hidden pigments within, learning about solubility of different dyes. Students put their engineering skills to the test as they designed and built paper structures that could float on a fan, experimenting with aerodynamics and balance to achieve the highest flight. The metal flame tests were a visual spectacle, as different metal salts produced brilliant bursts of colour, demonstrating the unique properties of elements when exposed to heat.

Biology and physics were in focus as students engaged in both detailed dissections and innovative electrical engineering. The fish dissection session provided a fascinating look into anatomy, allowing students to identify organs which allow fish to absorb oxygen from water. Meanwhile, those interested in mechanics and electricity had the chance to design and build their own electric motors, exploring how magnetism and circuits work together to create motion.

With so many practical experiments, Science Week 2025 was an inspiring experience, encouraging curiosity, problem solving, and a deeper appreciation for the world of science.
