Sixth Form Christmas Rugby 2024

Sixth Form

We enjoyed a large turnout for our annual Christmas rugby event last Wednesday – everyone showed up and the crowd were really supportive of players with signs and Christmas-themed clothes. The year 13 A team versus the year 12 A team saw victory to the year 12s, but 13s made up for it with their funny outfits and celebrations every time they scored.

It was great to see our first ever girls’ match in the half-time game. Again, the outfits were impressive. The year 12 girls displayed a dominant and convincing 1-0 victory over the year 13s. The team showed impressive decision-making, commitment and desire whilst also expressing their Christmas spirit. Annabel Shipp scored a superb game-deciding try. With pure grit and determination from Emily Austen, getting stuck into many on-field duels. Credit to all those who played and cemented the year 12 legacy as rugby victors: bring on next year!

Finally, the B team match saw a victory for year 13. A really entertaining match from students – some of whom hadn’t played for several years.
