The School Library

Our Library

The library is an ideal setting for quiet, independent study or reading for pleasure. It also offers a calm and peaceful space in a busy environment. The shelves hold a huge variety of reading material; there really is something for everyone and it’s our mission to match every user with their perfect read whether it’s fiction, non-fiction, manga or a graphic novel.

All students in Year 7 and Year 8 use Accelerated Reader. This programme, developed by Renaissance Learning, helps students to choose books that allow them to read at a level that is just right for them. Book quizzes help check a student’s understanding of what they have read and help to guide the choice of future reading material.

The librarians are always happy to help students choose books to read for pleasure or to help find information for homework or on topics of personal interest to students.

Library catalogue

You can browse all the books in the KLB School Library online by looking at the library catalogue here. There is a short video on the homepage of the catagoloue explaining how to get the most out of your search.

It is possible to browse the catalogue as a Guest but you will need to log in to your personal account to see what books you have to loan, when they are due back and to renew them if necessary. You will also need to be logged in if you want to post reviews, serve items or manage your own reading list.
