2024 GCSE Results

Thursday 22 August was another exciting day for students at KLB School, as they collected their GCSE results. The school was delighted with the results achieved this year, which were fully deserved by the students: They worked so well alongside staff who noted their willingness to accept advice and make the most of the additional support offered over the last two years.

Hannah Khan, Headteacher, commented, “The options available to young people increase significantly when they have secured five grade 5s including English and mathematics, so we are particularly pleased that this figure continues to climb year on year. We are also delighted to report that 34.1% of our entries achieved the highest 7-9 grades. We encourage our students to consider a range of post-16 pathways and are so happy that the vast majority have gained the results for their first choice. In most cases, this is to stay at KLB and continue into our sixth form.

“This is an exciting time for the school. The students have seen the superb results achieved by our year 13 leavers and are eager to face their new challenge as we move into the impressive new Berkeley Building. We congratulate all students on the character and resilience they have shown throughout their KS4 courses whilst demonstrating the respect and integrity that are at the heart of our school.”

2024 A Level Results

The sun shone and spirits were high for A level results day at KLB School. Staff were quietly confident: the students had maintained an excellent work ethic throughout their courses and worked alongside the staff with determination, integrity and humility. They had also made a significant contribution to the whole school community, acting as ambassadors for visitors and role models for younger students.

Nerves dissolved into relief and smiles as students opened their results and realised the reward of two years of hard work and the reality of their dreams of university, apprenticeships, art foundation courses or exciting gap years.

This year’s results were superb with 15.4% of all results being graded at A*, 37.6% graded A* or A, 66.4% graded A*-B and 99% graded A*-E.

Hannah Khan, Headteacher, shared her admiration for the students, saying, “Our students have not only achieved excellent results but have also been an absolute pleasure to support throughout their KLB years. They have consistently shown kindness, commitment, and a true sense of responsibility toward the school community. We are extremely proud of their achievements today and thank them for the contributions they have made to the school. The students’ superb work ethic has been complemented throughout by the exceptional commitment of the staff who have supported them which, we know, the students have recognised and appreciated.”

Many KLB students have secured places on competitive courses at a range of universities, including Oxford, Cambridge, and other Russell Group institutions. This year, the most popular institutions include Nottingham University and Exeter University. Others are pursuing higher apprenticeships or entering the workforce, equipped with the skills, values, and experiences that will serve them well.
