Chris Whitty Talk at Berkeley Castle 2023

KLBTrips

On Thursday 26 January, a group of students including myself went to Berkeley Castle to hear a very interesting talk from Professor Chris Whitty and his career in the medical field. We learned many things about his journey through his career and his thoughts on things like the NHS strikes – and a talk on a local hero, Edward Jenner, who invented vaccinations and grew up in the area.

We were invited to ask questions about Professor Whitty’s background and how he came to work for Parliament and the country, and it was incredibly fascinating to hear about how one can go so far. I think everyone who went, myself included, wish to say a big thank you to Professor Whitty and that we immensely enjoyed our time.
