On Wednesday 23 October, KLB School, working in partnership with Forest Green Rovers Community, hosted the EFL U13 Girls Cup for the second year running.

For your information, The EFL Girls Cup is a National Competition involving local events run by each of the seventy-two Football League Community Trust’s. The winners of the local club tournaments progress to an Area Final where they will represent FGR. Bristol Rovers will host this year’s Area Final in the week commencing the 6th January 2020. If Successful at the Area Finals, the winning team will progress to the Regional Tournament, the week beginning 10 February 2020 at Swindon Town and if successful here will qualify for the Grand Final at Wembley Stadium prior to the Leasing.com Trophy on Sunday 5 April 2020.

In a series of very competitive games on the artificial surface our Year 8 team were crowned winners and will now go on to represent Forest Green Rovers FC at Bristol Rovers in January. Our Year 7 team were very impressive in all their games, holding their own and only just narrowly being defeated . This bodes well for their chances next year in the competition.

As a reminder, our Girls Football Club, run by Dr C Thomas, has started on a Wednesday afterschool on the 3G. All abilities and ages welcome.
