NSEA Show Jumping With Style at West Wilts Equestrian Centre

Sport

On Saturday 22 January twelve of our riders competed at West Wilts Equestrian Centre. We had hoped to enter more riders but these were balloted out in the week due to the enormous number of entries received.

In class 1, 70cm qualifier, three of our riders made their debut for the school (Lizzie German, Grace German and Flo Hall-Smith). These are featured on the right with Ella Cranwell and Tensie Littlewood. Ella, Flo and Lizzie all had clear rounds. Tensie and Grace rode well but were unfortunate to have a pole down each.

In the 80cm qualifier all our riders, seen below, had clear rounds. Lily Clarke placed fourth individually, gaining individual qualification for the NSEA Championships in October 2022 and Harvey Barfoot-Saunt placed sixth. Grace Clarke and Rachel Turnbull joined Lily & Harvey in our KLB Maroon team and the team placed second overall in a very strong field of South West schools. This qualified the team for the JWS 80cm class at the NSEA National Championships 2022. As an individual, Keaton Ball had a very strong performance and placed high in the rankings. Also the new combination of Ella Woolls and Tresaison Superted went well. The 90cm class proved more challenging for our riders and only Ella Woolls managed to go clear.
Mia Harrison riding Whitehawk White Mist, was our last rider to go in the 1m class on the day. She rode well but was unlucky to have a pole down in her round.

In addition to the JWS competition Lily and Grace Clarke have entered the NSEA Pop-up Dressage competition in both November and December. Both sisters are going well in the series with the new combination of Lily and Jack Morgan gaining first place in November for class 1. Grace riding Hot Chocolate continues to impress the judges achieving first place in both class 2 tests for November and December, amongst other high placings.

Thanks to all riders for representing our School. We look forward to competing in further competitions later this year.
