Well done to the cast and crew of Road for three fabulous performances.
The play explores the lives of the residents of an un-named road over the course of one evening. Due to its gritty nature and the tough themes it covers, this was a brave choice for the school production but our cast did a splendid job of bringing the characters to life and bringing out the empathy, humour and humanity of the script.
A special thank you to the site team and art department for creating such an exciting and inspirational set that definitely helped to bring the Road and its characters alive.
The performances, choreography and interpretation of the story were outstanding – every single person (student or staff) involved in staging the production should also be proud of what they achieved. I know my daughter absolutely loved being part of it and invested so much in it. The growth we have seen in her and the confidence she has gained has been wonderful. As well as the social relevance, what struck me about why Road was such an inspired choice, was that while many productions have a couple of leading characters, Road gives each resident a stage to tell their story. And in doing so, each of the cast an opportunity to shine – twenty or so students delivering amazing ‘leading performances’.
