The test was a straight-line run with a helping push to reduce the loading on the transmission. All students involved (and Mr Thomson) experienced the thrilling acceleration and sense of power and speed that the car gave. Being only a few centimetres from the ground and in a very low ‘racing’ driving position certainly added to the excitement.
When permitted, the team will focus its efforts on designing aerodynamic bodywork to enable the car to travel an extended distance on one charge. The DT department would like to offer a huge well done to the students involved who demonstrated maturity and an excellent team spirit!
